Isleton

Isleton is a movie set. No, Isleton is two movie sets. One is the Downtown Historical District, most of it built after a devastation fire in 1926. You could take its row of stores, on either side of the street, and do a search and replace for any town in a B-Western Hopalong. The only question is, did Isleton make Hollywood, or vice versa. The right answer is, of course, they made each other.

The other is just out of town, to the north, first a full set, then a half set, not yet finished, waiting for actors.

Wonderful light, color, and composition in these photos. I like the continuation of the film narrative and the whole tradition of self-reflective California novels/stories/films about movies. Are we actors or audience? Are you director or voyeur? And where the heck is nature?
